Unleashing Creativity with Seth Apter's Collection
Let’s Make an Art Journal Page Together
Once the unboxing excitement settled, I dove straight into creating! In the video, I demonstrate step-by-step how to use Seth Apter's new dies to craft a beautiful art journal page. Here’s a sneak peek into the process.
Step 1: Gathering Supplies
Before we dive in, let's gather the essential supplies you’ll need. Along with the Sizzix collection, make sure to have the following:
Step 2: Building Layers
One of the most fascinating aspects of art journaling is layering. Seth's designs shine in this process. I used the dies to cut shapes to create and add texture to the background of my page. The versatility of shapes allows for endless combinations.
I used the Twisters thinlit dies on the background. Then, I layered parts of the Waffles thinlit die on top. This brought the viewer's eye to the focal point. Experimenting with colors and patterns is key. Don't overthink it! Start with your favorite color and add complementary colors to build visual interest.
Step 3: Adding the Focal Point
Next, I added the Word Wafers #1 thinlit die and used the word 'Imagine' from Seth’s collection. The beauty of this set is that you can build layers to create this word or just use one layer. I wanted this to be my focal point and to stand out from the background, so I added the letters as a second layer to bring them forward.
Step 4: Final Touches
In the final stages, I added small doodles to the page. Doodling and possibly adding some notes or text can help add a personal touch. This makes the page more interesting. This is where your individual style shines through, allowing your creativity to express who you are.
Even for those who don’t consider themselves artists, Seth Apter’s new collection invites everyone to explore their creative side. It makes art journaling accessible to all.
